WEST LIGHTS - The Novel
- by Rose Daniel
Welcome
The
Novel
'West Lights' is a fictional love story set in late nineteenth
century Scotland. Interwoven with the fabric of the story are many true
historical events around the time of the Tay Bridge disaster - 28th of December
1879.
Roselyn Carey, a young nurse in training, lives in a small
lighthouse community on the opposite bank of the river Tay from Dundee. Her
home life revolves around her parents, her childhood sweetheart, Allan
Robertson, and her enticing local minister, Ralph Valente.
Blessed with a sixth
sense, she is aware of a poltergeist that haunts the family home. Her parents
refuse to listen to her stories about the supernatural, insisting that the
happenings are all figments of her imagination.
Emotional conflict exists
in Roselyn's heart. She is torn between the irresistible passion of Ralph and
the familiar, comfortable love of Allan.
Allan is thrilled by being
offered a prestigious position in London. He decides to relocate, leaving
Roselyn to continue her life without him until she is able to join him later.
The fates have other plans for Roselyn
